Lucknow: A doctor running a private clinic in Dubagga Malaha area of Lucknow was accused of molesting a woman patient who had gone to him for medical consultation. FIR was lodged on Saturday.
The accused threatened to kill her if she complained. Police registered FIR on the woman's complaint and started investigating the case. Police said the woman's statement had to be recorded before a magistrate and further action would be taken based on evidence.
The woman from Dubagga said that around 8 pm on Oct 22, she had fever and went to the clinic in the village to consult a doctor and get medicine. Only the doctor was present in the clinic at that time. As he went on to check her pulse he touched her inappropriately, complained the woman, adding that when she protested, the doctor started threatening to kill her. She raised an alarm and he let her go fearing people would gather. The woman came home and informed her family, after which she went to Dubagga police station and filed a complaint.
Dubagga police inspector Abhinav Verma said that on complaint of the woman, a case was registered against the doctor under charges of molestation. The accused runs a clinic in a shop in the village. The clinic is closed since the incident.
The inspector said it was being ascertained whether the degree of the doctor was genuine. Also, the woman's statement is to be recorded before a magistrate. Further action will be taken based on evidence related to the incident.
