Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Friday criticised BJP MP from Araria, Pradeep Kumar Singh, for his remarks against Muslims, stating that such individuals are not true Hindus but “hypocrites”.
Lalu, who is among the star campaigners of the RJD for the Jharkhand elections, also expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc will form the govt in the state.
He was talking to mediapersons here. To a question about the statement of Araria BJP MP during Union minister Giriraj Singh’s Hindu Swabhiman Yatra, the RJD chief said, “They all are not Hindus, rather they are pakhandi (hypocrites).” He emphasised that people making such remarks do not represent the true essence of Hinduism and are merely pretending to be devout Hindus.
Lalu also announced his plans to campaign in the Jharkhand election, while his son and Opposition leader in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, is already canvassing for the party’s candidates.
However, hitting back at Lalu, BJP state spokesperson Prem Ranjan Patel said Lalu was not concerned about the danger and demographic changes happening in the Seemanchal region of Bihar, but only interested in his vote bank politics.
He said, “As far as the Jharkhand election is concerned, people there are fed up with crime, levy and extortion.”
