Bokaro: BJP has caught attention of many by nominating family members of notable political figures. The prominent names include Purnima Das, daughter-in-law of Odisha governor and ex-Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das; Meera Munda, wife of Union minister Arjun Munda; and Babulal Soren, son of ex-CM Champai Soren. The party’s decision to give them tickets has sparked conversations about family influence and BJP's stance on 'parivarvaad' (dynasty politics). State BJP president Babulal Marandi on Friday addressed a press conference following the nomination of BJP chief Whip Biranchi Narayan in Bokaro, saying, "BJP is not run by any one family." He said while some candidates may be related to established leaders, their roles do not equate to family control within the party. According to him, dynasty politics refers to instances where a single family both symbolizes and controls a party. Marandi gave the example of Congress and drew parallels to other parties in Jharkhand like JMM. Similar comparisons were drawn with RJD led by Lalu Prasad Yadav and SP under Mulayam Singh Yadav. tnn
