Jaipur: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission's (RPSC) decision to cancel the Revenue Officer (RO) Grade-II and Executive Officer (EO) Category-IV Exam 2022 has cast doubt over the Sub-Inspector (SI) Exam 2021, as the paper leak mafia, Tulchharam Kaler, was involved in both exams.
A senior SOG official said that Kaler, a central figure in the RO&EO paper leak case, also played a major role in assisting numerous candidates in the SI recruitment exam and is officially listed as an accused. The SI exam scandal appears to be more extensive, with nearly ten different kingpins involved, including notorious figures like Jagdish Bishnoi and Bhupendra Saran, whereas the RO&EO exam fraud is linked primarily to Kaler's gang.
In response to the widespread nature of the SI exam scandal, the state govt constituted a six-member ministerial committee tasked with investigating the full extent of irregularities, which include the use of dummy candidates and breaches in exam centre security. The committee has since submitted its report, currently awaiting a final decision from the chief minister.
Although Kaler is a common link between the two cases, there is a notable distinction: while the RO&EO appointment process was still in their final stages, the SI selection process was completed some time ago, with many candidates already in training at the academy. This difference may influence the state govt's decision, as it balances the need to uphold exam integrity with the impact on those who already progressed through the SI selection.
Sources indicate that probe revealed the SI exam paper was leaked several days before the exam, allowing candidates with early access to gain an unfair advantage.
