Gorakhpur: Ayush Singh (24) from Mohrha village in Barhaj, Gorakhpur, allegedly took his own life with his father's licensed rifle on Friday morning. Police have taken the body into custody and are investigating the suicide.
Ayush, the younger son of Subedar Pancham Singh stationed in Jammu and Kashmir, was found dead in his room shortly after having tea on Friday morning. Family members rushed to his room upon hearing a gunshot and found him laying motionless on the floor. His mother, Anita Devi, broke down upon seeing her son's lifeless body, and soon, neighbors gathered to support the grieving family.
Police siezed Ayush's cell phone, the rifle, and sent cartridges for forensic examination. Reports indicate that the bullet struck Ayush's chin, exiting through his skull and hitting the ceiling. The suicide has left villagers in shock, with many struggling to come to terms with the tragedy. Rudrapur circle officer Anshuman Srivastava confirmed that the body has been sent for autopsy and probe to ascertain the cause of the suicide is underway.
