RailTel is currently working on a number of crucial digitalization projects in Gujarat.

New Delhi, Oct 25: Vinod Agarwal, Pr. ED/RailTel met the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Bhai Patel to brief him about RailTel’s projects at Gujarat and also express gratitude for his continuous support to RailTel. 

Recently RailTel won a work order of Rs. 144.88 crore for the Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of CCTV Systems for the Department of ADGP, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Gujarat. This work is crucial for advancing the safety system of the department. RailTel is currently working on a number of crucial digitalization projects in Gujarat.

During the meeting, Agarwal also gave an update on the progress of Cluster-1 in the ongoing VISWAS Phase-II Project, highlighting that it is in the advanced stages of completion. RailTel is implementing Video Integration & State Wide Advanced Security (VISWAS) in Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Arvalli, Patan, Mehsana, Kutch (East), and Kutch (West) districts of Gujarat.

Additionally, he briefed the Chief Minister on the current status of preparedness to extend FTTH/FTTx services to rural areas in Gujarat under the BharatNet Phase-II project.First of its kind Public Private Cooperative Partnership to deliver high speed broadband internet services along with WiFi Entertainment in the form of IPTV and OTT services shall also be delivered in the 22 districts of Gujarat.

Additionally, Government to Citizens Benefits and Scheme awareness will be available.  Digitally enabled services such as  edu-Tech Fin-Tech, Agri-Tech shall also be delivered to the rural households through their Televisions.These  services are set for commercial launch this Diwali from Banaskantha District.
