Kanpur: A couple from Pindarthu village in Sikandra police station area of Kanpur Dehat died after being hit by an Intercity train heading to Jhansi from Kanpur near Mandi Mod railway crossing on Kanpur-Jhansi rail route. On receiving information, police reached the spot and sent bodies for autopsy. The family members also arrived at the scene. Som Shukla, a 36-year-old resident of Pindarthu, worked at a car showroom in Bhognipur area of Kanpur Dehat district.His in-laws lived in Raigwan in the Bhognipur police station area. Late Wednesday night, Som Shukla and his wife Shweta Shukla were struck by the Intercity train near the Mandi Mod railway crossing in the Pukhrayan area of Kanpur Dehat. Their bodies were found near pole number 1288/15-16 on the railway track. Meanwhile, Awadhesh Kumar, an employee of the car agency, identified the bodies as his colleague and informed the family about the incident.
