Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Thursday virtually laid foundation stones for the construction of 2,615 Panchayat Sarkar Bhavans (PSBs) across the state and a state-level Panchayat Sansadhan Kendra (PSK) at Sonepur in Saran district, entailing an expenditure of a total of Rs 7,160 crore.
During a function held at Sankalp auditorium at his official residence here, the CM also virtually inaugurated the buildings of 13 district PSKs and 65 PSBs, besides launching panchayat e-gram kachahari — a court management system — and a zila parishad portal.
That apart, the CM also had interaction with MPs, MLAs, the elected representatives of the three-tier panchayati raj bodies (panchayats, panchayat samitis and zila parishads), DMs and other officials through videoconferencing. “The panchayati raj institutions (PRIs) should have the same arrangements as the state govt. Therefore, I named these buildings PSBs and not just Panchayat Bhavan”.
