Panaji: Drishti Marine lifesavers rescued four visually-impaired tourists from Karnataka from drowning off Baga beach in North Goa on Friday evening.
The four tourists, aged between 22 and 43—three men and one woman—were seated near the shoreline when rising water levels unexpectedly pulled them into the sea.
The four individuals struggled to find their footing due to the uneven seabed and started drowning.
Lifesavers Vinod Gaonkar, Fondu Gawas, and Suryakant Paryekar rushed to rescue them with surfboards and rescue tubes. All four were brought safely ashore.
