The election took place during the 63rd ICCA Congress, held in Abu Dhabi from October 20 to 23, 2024.
With over 15 years of active involvement in ICCA, Jan Oršič brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role on the Board.
As the Head of the Ljubljana Convention Bureau, he has been instrumental in the development of Ljubljana as a leading second-tier destination for international meetings and events. His strategic insights and experience will be key in shaping ICCA’s future initiatives and supporting its global mission to advance the meetings industry.
Jan Oršič will work alongside prominent figures in the meetings and events sector, including Marta Gomes, Senthil Gopinath, Christoph Tessmar, Juan Jose Garcia – MBA, CICE, James Rees, Michael Kruppe, Mubarak AlShamsi, Glenn Duncan, Jaap Bakker, Carina Montagut, Melissa Riley, Anna Górska, Lindiwe Rakharebe, Diana Rodriguez, CMP, Leonie Ashford, and Natasza Tardio.
Oršič’s election to the Board highlights the increasing recognition of smaller, second-tier cities like Ljubljana as important players in the global meetings industry, and his participation is expected to strengthen collaboration between ICCA members worldwide.
