NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:24AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Coforge Ltd.(up 2.08 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.53 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.26 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.14 per cent at 42163.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 29.75 points at 24405.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 47.34 points at 80034.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Piramal Pharma, JP Power, PNB and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of CARE Ratings, Piramal Pharma, Amber Enterprises, Vishnu Chem and The Investment Trust of India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vinny Overseas, Rossell India, Goldstone Tech, Kamdhenu Ventures and SecUR Credentials hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
