Kolkata: Bengal STF recovered brown sugar worth Rs 2.5 crore in three raids around Kolkata, Burdwan, and Murshidabad. On Tuesday evening, a Bengal STF team apprehended Ajit Kumar Das (49) of Budbud, Bardhaman, near Panagarh underpass with 1.1 kg of brown sugar. The STF conducted a raid near Dakbanglow More in Shamserganj PS area in Murshidabad and apprehended three persons of an inter-state narcotic smuggling gang, with 1.4 kg of brown sugar.The STF also recovered banned Phensedyl bottles worth Rs 2 crore.
Contraband cannabis (Ganja) was found hidden in the rear part of a vehicle at Amdanga. The kingpin, Nur Islam Miah, (55), of Dinhata, Coochbehar, was arrested. TNN
