Patna: Automobile showrooms across the city are buzzing with activities, as customers are booking vehicles, including four-wheelers and two-wheelers, in advance for delivery on the auspicious Dhanteras, to be celebrated on October 29. To woo the customers, aspiring to own their dream vehicles, the beautifully decorated showrooms are splashing mouth-watering offers.
The offers include gifts, scratch cards, and merchandise products on every purchase.Suggest is the size of demand that some automobile dealers are unable to accept additional orders, as it is exceeding their projected sales volume.

Deepak Kumar Sinha, general manager (Sales) of an automobile showroom on Exhibition Road, said over 150 bookings of SUVs have been received so far for the Dhanteras. “We have assured around 125 customers that their vehicles would be handed over to them on October 29. On average, we are getting 15-20 bookings per day. The new model Kia Sonet is more in demand because of its affordable price and advanced features like voice-controlled sunroof and compact design,” he said.
Sinha said to attract the customers, the dealers are offering assured gifts on every purchase, such as home appliances, utensils, electronic gadgets, gold coins, idols of deities, and even brand merchandise products.
Anuj Tiwari, general manager of an automobile showroom at Patliputra, said the sale of four-wheelers started picking up even before the Durga Puja. “So far, 200 four-wheelers have been booked for Dhanteras. We are still getting large number of orders for the festival, but it is not possible to complete all the deliveries on the Dhanteras, so we are asking the customers to take their vehicles on Diwali also,” he said.
Manager of an SUV showroom on Bailey Road, Dharmendra Kumar, said the booking is open for the four-wheelers, and they are getting a good response from the customers. “The company is giving offers and discounts for the upcoming festival. The dealers are also giving assured gifts on the purchase of four-wheelers,” he said.
Vikash Kumar, a dealer of an automobile showroom at Anisabad, said, “A total of 450 bookings of two-wheelers have been registered, while 170 for four-wheelers. The booking has jumped to almost 60% during the festive season compared to normal days.”
