Vasco: Commuters from Akhada to Mormugao harbour have raised concerns about the inconvenience caused by the unavailability of Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) bus services in the morning.
“It has been about 20 days since the direct KTCL bus has been unavailable. Passengers face inconvenience trying to catch other buses from Marcel in the morning. We have to wake up around 4.30 to 5.00am to catch the direct bus from Akhada at 6.45am, which reaches Mormugao Harbour by 8.15am. Due to the unavailability of the bus, employees of Mormugao port authority, Goa Shipyard Limited, state and central govt offices, and other private firms arrive late at work,” said Pushpa Fadte, a daily commuter from Akhada.
Fadte said that KTCL management and officials must address the issue and resolve it for the benefit of commuters.
“The direct bus from Akhada to Mormugao harbour may have been stopped for unknown reasons. I will inquire with the Vasco depot manager and resolve the issue promptly. I will ensure that commuters are not affected due to staff mismanagement. I will also direct the department head concerned to check why the bus service has been stopped,” said KTCL chairman Ulhas Tuyekar.
