Mysuru: The Mysuru Palace Board has increased the entry fee for foreigners to Rs 1,000 per person, which is 10 times more than the existing Rs 100. The new price will come into effect on Friday.
The palace board attributed the increase in the entry fees to the implementation of GST. However, the board also resolved to provide complimentary access to the footwear stand, luggage road, and toilet facilities.
The entry fee for Indian adults has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 120. For children in 10-17 age group, the fee has been raised from Rs 50 to Rs 70. The entry fee for school- and college-going students has been increased from Rs 30 to Rs 50 per person. Children under the age of 10 will continue to enjoy free entry.
Meanwhile, the sound-and-light show at the palace, which was suspended during the Dasara celebrations, will resume on Friday.
