NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 16.82 points down at 80065.16 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, KPIT Tech(down 13.68 per cent), AVI Products India (down 13.56 per cent), LT Foods(down 13.52 per cent), Shivam Chemicals(down 12.56 per cent) and Nivaka Fashions(down 12.10 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 24 stocks closed in the green, while 26 stocks ended in the red.

The index closed 36.1 points down at 24399.4.

On the BSE, Rajnish Wellness, Yash Chemex Ltd., Pharmaids Pharm, Riddhi Corp. Service and Goldstone Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows, while CARE Ratings, Piramal Pharma, Mohite Industries, Shree Rajiv Lochan Oil Extraction Ltd. and Omega Ag-Seeds touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
