Udupi: A minor in conflict with the law was held for committing a theft at a house in Amparu, within the Shankaranarayana police station limits.
Complainant Akkayya and his daughter were away from their house at Amparu between Oct 10 and 21. Upon their return, they found the lock on their house's front door broken. A sum of Rs 4,000 in cash, two mobile phones, and a mobile phone charger, were missing.
Shankaranarayana police registered a case under sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305 of the BNS.During the investigation, the police team found mobile phones and other items worth Rs 87,890 from the minor in conflict with the law. Police said the minor was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
