Prayagraj: For the first time, devotees and tourists attending Maha Kumbh at Sangam City in 2025 will be able to avail the facility of mini cruise and speed boat to be operated by UP tourism department.
The mini cruise or speed boat to reach Sangam will be available for services at Triveni Boat Club located on Yamuna Bank Road, Prayagraj. The tourism department is offering these services to enhance the experience of devotees coming to take holy dip in the Sangam.
As per the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the tourism department is making significant efforts to ensure ease and convenience of devotees during Maha Kumbh.
According to a tourism official, it is for the first time in Maha Kumbh that the department is providing the facility of a mini cruise and speed boat for Sangam bath. This facility has been running since December 2023, but the department will provide this service for the first time during Maha Kumbh. The water sports facility of UPSTDC was inaugurated by CM Yogi, he added. With these services, the journey from Triveni Boat Club of Prayagraj to Sangam can be completed in just a few minutes.
The facility is also available for visitors on normal days from Triveni Boat Club, located on Yamuna Bank Road, Prayagraj. Its main objective is easily transport services for foreign and special devotees coming from helipad built near the boat club to Sangam. Triveni Boat Club is located within walking distance from the helipad.
Moreover, Triveni Boat Club operator Deepak Tandon stated that at present, the boat club has six six-seater speed boats, two thirty-five-seater mini cruises, and two rescue boats. The fare for the speed boat is Rs 200 per person or Rs 2,000 per hour, while the mini cruise can be availed at Rs 150 per person or Rs 5,000 per hour. Both boats can be booked for the entire family. The mini cruise also has a cabin for women to change their clothes. Apart from the Sangam bath, the boat club also offers services of tour of Yamuna and Sujavan Dev Temple.
Efforts are also being made to increase the number of speed boats during the Maha Kumbh. Previously, Yamuna Boat Club and PDA have also been providing this facility. For the first time in Maha Kumbh, devotees will be able to take services of speed boat and mini cruise provided by tourism department for Sangam bath, said Tandon.
