Patna: In a major breakthrough, the Special Task Force (STF) of Bihar Police arrested four notorious criminals, including three carrying bounties on their heads, from different locations in the past 24 hours.
“The STF arrested Md Chand from Sultanganj on Tuesday. Another criminal Abhishek Mehta was apprehended from Chhoti Pahari locality under Agamkuan police station area.Police recovered two country-made pistols and revolvers, 27 live cartridges, and Rs 10,000 cash from them. Both were named in connection with an extortion case in the Patna City area. On Tuesday, they demanded Rs 5lakh extortion from a doctor in the Chowk police station area of Patna. They threatened to kill him if the extortion was not paid,” said a press release issued by Bihar Police headquarters on Wednesday.
STF ADG, Amrit Raj, said, “Sand mafia Shravan Kumar was arrested from Patna with illegal weapons on Tuesday. The joint team of STF and Patna police, conducted a raid in Bihta police station area and arrested the criminal. They seized two regular rifles, 10 semi-automatic rifles, 102 live cartridges, and an SUV from his possession.”
