Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Tuesday directed that the state shall preserve the body of the woman who was allegedly murdered in a village under Patashpur police station earlier this month. The husband of the deceased had moved court seeking a second autopsy.
The case was heard by a vacation bench of Justice Kausik Chanda, who directed: “The dead body of the victim lady shall be preserved by the state.” The matter will be heard on Oct 29.
The husband alleged that the autopsy was conducted to “safeguard the accused”. It was claimed that two miscreants allegedly assaulted, disrobed and poured poison into the mouth of the deceased.
The husband demanded a second autopsy and transfer of the probe to an “impartial and unbiased” agency beyond the control of the state govt. tnn
