Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment carried out searches at five residential and commercial properties owned by Rajveer Singh, assistant project manager at the General Manager's Office in New Delhi in connection with a case of disproportionate assets.
The total value of properties and assets recovered was over Rs 40 crore.
Rajveer Singh was formerly the assistant project manager at the Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam in Lucknow.
He is accused of amassing assets beyond his known income. Following an investigation, a detailed report was submitted to the state govt recommending legal action. Consequently, an FIR was lodged on March 11, 2024, under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018), and further investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, search warrants were obtained from the court. Joint teams from the Vigilance Department's Lucknow and Meerut sectors conducted searches at various properties owned by him.
The search uncovered significant assets, including a commercial complex in Delhi valued at approximately Rs 20 crore, with a five-story building under construction.
A residential building in Gautam Buddha Nagar, built on 300 square meters, was valued at Rs 5 crore, with interiors and furniture worth Rs 2.5 crore. Jewellery worth Rs 77 lakh and Rs 1 lakh in cash were also recovered from a private locker. Another commercial complex in Gautam Buddha Nagar, built on 435 square meters, was valued at Rs 6 crore, containing Rs 20 lakh worth of machinery and Rs 5 lakh worth of air conditioning and furniture.
Two properties in Gautam Buddha Nagar operating as PG hostels were valued at Rs 4 crore each, equipped with furniture and amenities worth Rs 21 lakh. Documents for two acres of agricultural land in Ghaziabad and eight plots in Aligarh were also recovered. Mutual funds, insurance policies, Demat accounts, and other investment documents worth crores were found.
