Her father alleges that despite warnings, the boy continued to torment her with obscene Facebook messages, leading her to stop attending school. Police have registered a case and are investigating with the help of the cyber cell.

LUCKNOW: A 17-year-old girl ended her life in her house in Gosainganj on Monday night after allegedly being hounded by a stalker, police said.
The girl's father on Tuesday registered a case of abetment to suicide against a 17-year-old boy, a classmate of the victim.
The complainant said that the boy had been harassing the girl for long.
"When my daughter told us about this at home, we went to that boy's house and counselled him to mend his ways.However, he did not mend his ways. Fed up with this, my daughter stopped going to school about one month ago," he said.
He said that the stalker started sending obscene messages to his daughter on Facebook using her name and photo. The complainant also presented screenshots of the messages sent to the girl by the accused.
The girl's father alleged that his daughter was so frustrated by these developments that on Oct 21, she committed suicide in the bathroom.
DCP, south zone, Keshav Kumar, said that a case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and investigation had been started into the allegations. "We have roped in the cyber cell to ascertain if he is the same boy who has been accused by the family or not," the DCP said.
