Bathinda: At least 71 fresh incidents of crop residue burning were recorded in Punjab on Tuesday, taking the count to 1,581 this season. Tarn Taran saw the most number of farm fires (15) followed by Ferozepur (10) among 16 districts that reported such incidents. Earlier, 65 cases were recorded on Monday. Thirty stubble farming cases were recorded on this day last year, while 582 events were recorded the year before that.In 2023, the tally till Oct 22 was 1,794 as opposed to 3,696 during the same period in 2022.
