New Delhi: Over 200 NSS students and faculty members of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University cleaned up the streets and other public places in the nearby Amberhai village under the Swachhta Abhiyan 4.0 on Tuesday. Called "Swachhta Hi Seva Hai", the drive was carried out in collaboration with local community members.
The university has adopted two villages, Amberhai and Pochanpur, under its outreach programme with a commitment to enhance the quality of life of residents.Several health drives, medical camps, and awareness sessions on AI and legal aid were also carried out by the university.
Professor Varun Joshi emphasised the need for cleanliness in and around our surroundings and the outreach awareness drive. He encouraged the young students to make it a habit to keep the surroundings clean. BJP MP Kamljeet Sherawat appreciated the efforts of the students in spreading awareness among people.
