Jaipur: Rajasthan High Court has issued a contempt notice to Union home secretary, CRPF director general, and three others for not providing benefits to a CRPF constable despite a court order. They have been asked to respond within six weeks. This order was given by a single bench of Justice Umashankar Vyas on Oct 10.
The contempt petition stated that while disposing of the petition, the single bench ordered on May 16, 2023, the reinstatement of the petitioner along with service benefits.Although CRPF reinstated the petitioner, they denied him the service benefits, leading to this contempt petition.
The petition titled sepoy Satish Kumar versus Union of India, filed by the petitioner challenging the termination order dated June 15, 2009, was disposed of by the high court in an order dated May 16, 2023 in light of the direction issued in the case of Malkhan Singh. The court directed the respondents to reinstate the petitioner with consequential benefits and continuity, said Laxmikant Sharma Malpura, counsel for the petitioner.
The petitioner said that although he was reinstated, he did not receive payment of HRA, CEA for his child, dress allowance for 7 years, risk allowance for 2,222 days, and Diwali bonus for 14 years. tnn
