Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday, inaugurated an advanced diabetic centre at SGPGI, which unites specialists from various fields under one roof to offer the best facilities to diabetic patients, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Minister of State for Medical Education Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh.
An official spokesperson shared that the centre was built at a cost of Rs 63 crore and would offer advanced, state-of-the-art workforce, equipment, and infrastructure for the care of patients with all types of diabetes and its complications.
"This centre will have an open-door policy for all patients, providing comprehensive clinical evaluations, investigations, treatment modalities, and education efficiently. In addition to a general diabetes clinic, it will feature various subspecialty clinics, including those for gestational diabetes, diabetic renal care, diabetes ophthalmology, foot care, type 1 diabetes in adults, and type 2 diabetes in youth," the spokesperson said.
The centre also aims to develop a cadre of professionals dedicated to delivering diabetes care services within the community, provide teleconsultation services for patients in remote areas, disseminate knowledge about diabetes care among healthcare professionals, enhance research in the diagnosis, treatment, and epidemiology of diabetes, and conduct community outreach programmes through mobile clinics in remote areas.
