Kolkata: Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd (HSCL) is set to invest Rs 220 crore to double its speciality carbon black capacity to 1,30,000 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
The company is undertaking a brownfield expansion at its Singur facility, targeting an increase in carbon black production capacity to 2,50,000 MTPA, up from the current 1,80,000 MTPA, by the end of the next fiscal year.HSCL also aims to increase its market share from the current 13% to 18% in the country’s carbon black industry by the end of FY 26.
Anurag Choudhary, CMD & CEO of HSCL, said: “With the expansion at Singur facility, we will emerge as the fourth largest producer of speciality carbon black in the world. The existing capacity of the Singur plant is 60,000 MTPA of speciality carbon black. With the expansion, the capacity will be raised to 1,30,000 MTPA.”
