An elderly woman, Usha Devi, was set on fire by her neighbors amid a property dispute in Kanpur's Bithoor area. The 61-year-old succumbed to her injuries at Ursula Hospital. Following a complaint by her son, Vijay Yadav, an FIR was filed against Radheshyam Yadav and his two sons, who were subsequently arrested.

KANPUR: An elderly woman was allegedly set on fire by her neighbours over a property dispute in the Bithoor area of the district on Tuesday evening. She died at a hospital during treatment. According to police, the conflict arose between two parties over a piece of land in Lakshmibai Nagar.
During an altercation, the accused allegedly poured diesel on 61-year-old Usha Devi and set her ablaze.The family rushed the elderly woman to Ursula Hospital for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The victim's son, Vijay Yadav, filed a complaint with the Bithoor police against their three neighbours. Bithoor police station in-charge Premnarayan Vishkarma said, according to Vijay Yadav's complaint, there was a vacant plot of approximately 150 square yards near their residence.
"It is alleged that with the intention of grabbing the plot, Radheshyam Yadav, along with his two sons, Umashankar and Dayashankar, broke the boundary wall of the plot on Tuesday evening," he said and added, "When Usha Devi opposed, the accused poured diesel on her and set her on fire. Usha Devi died at the hospital during treatment."
Based on Vijay Yadav's complaint, an FIR was registered against Radheshyam Yadav and his two sons, who have been arrested.
