TRICHY: The DMK alliance remains united and strong, said CPI state secretary R Mutharasan on Tuesday dispelling rumours about discord in it.
“There is no confusion within the DMK alliance and that it remains united and strong. Who is saying that there is a confusion in the DMK alliance? Are you saying that? If you say who the person was, I will explain to you.But we have no confusion, and we are clear and united. This front will continue and become strengthened,” Mutharasan told reporters in Trichy.
He was responding to comments made by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami that the allies would exit the DMK alliance. "It is his desire and wish. His party is burning. He should take steps to extinguish it first,” said Mutharasan.
Asked about the Tamil Thai Vaazhthu controversy and NTK chief Seeman’s challenge that he would remove the Tamil Thai Vaazhthu if he came to power, Mutharasan said, "Let him come to power first and decide. He has to answer whether the Tamil Thai Vaazhthu should be respected now or not, and action should be taken or not now."
The CPI leader was in Trichy to attend a seminar ahead of the centenary celebrations of the party which commences on Dec 26.
