Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Road Transport department will operate a large fleet of buses to facilitate the journey of devotees. The regional manager of UP Roadways, MK Trivedi said, "To communicate govt's vision for the Kumbh, (Aao chale Maha Kumbh) stickers are being affixed on the roadways buses.
Additionally, posters, slogans, and scenes depicting Kumbh Mela are also being painted on buses.These initiatives are aimed to raise public awareness about the Maha Kumbh and highlight its significance. As mela authorities have also geared to make mela free of polythene, efforts will be made to keep every ward and locality in city clean and green. For that, Mohalla Swachhta Samitis will be formed to facilitate eco-friendly initiative.
Trivedi, meanwhile, said, "The department is preparing to offer direct bus services from Prayagraj to all 75 districts of state as well as neighbouring states during the Maha Kumbh". Additionally, UP Roadways is advancing govt's campaign for environmental protection. Polythene-free Maha Kumbh stickers are being placed on transport department's buses. The conductors and staff are being encouraged to raise awareness among passengers during their journeys.
