Jamshedpur/Mumbai: A team of Mumbai police landed in Jamshedpur to trace the location of the person who allegedly sent a threat message to filmstar Salman Khan, demanding Rs 5 crore to settle the dispute with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The team, however, could not trace the person.
Meanwhile, Mumbai traffic police said it has received an apology from a mobile phone number which was used to send the threat message.The apology message was received on WhatsApp helpline of the traffic police on Monday, an official said. During the probe, it was confirmed that the apology was sent from the same mobile number which had been used for sending the threat message, an official said.
On October 17, the Mumbai traffic police received the message on its WhatsApp number following which officials of Worli police station in Mumbai were alerted.
East Singhbhum police sources on Tuesday said a team of Mumbai police visited three locations in Jugsalai and Bagbera areas on Monday. "The team conducted the search based on the location of the SIM card, which was allegedly used for sending the threatening message," a police source said, confirming Mumbai police's action.
"The location of the SIM card is constantly moving," the source added.
