Gujarat received an award for excellence in water management at a ‘National Water Awards' ceremony in Delhi, presided over by President Droupadi Murmu. An official statement on Tuesday said that Gujarat ranks third in the country in the Best State category for effective water management.
The statement mentioned that tap connections are established in 90% of rural households, and the state govt aims to achieve 100% tap connections by 2025.Under the AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) Yojana, a target is set to provide water in 100% of urban areas at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore, the statement added.
One more candidate files papers for Vav byelection
An independent candidate, Bhuraji Thakor, filled his nomination form for the Vav assembly byelection on Tuesday. Until now, three candidates filled their nomination forms for the election. The last date for filing nomination forms for the byelection is Oct 25.
