Cricket clubs shine at T-20 tournament

Kanpur : Diamond Club and Tarun Club defeated their rivals and secured their berths in the semi-final of the Ajay Sharma T-20 Cricket tournament being conducted at Kanpur South ground on Monday. Batting first against SPSSA, Diamond Club put a total 150 runs. Shivans Yadav emerged as their principal run-getter, smashing a scintillating 86 runs off just 51 deliveries, studded with 12 boundaries and 3 sixes.In response, SPSSA could only muster 121 runs, with Ashish Yadav contributing 27 runs. Akhil and Subrat Tiwari were the pick of the bowlers, snaring 3 wickets apiece.
In the second encounter, Tarun Club comprehensively outplayed Winners Club. Opting to bat first, Winners Club posted a competitive 142 runs. However, Tarun Club chased down the target with aplomb, reaching 145 for the loss of 7 wickets in 19.5 overs.
