Cancel Kalyan East BJP candidate ticket: Sena

Kalyan: After BJP gave a ticket to MLA Ganpat Gaikwad's wife Sulabha Gaikwad from Kalyan East assembly seat, Shiv Sena has demanded if BJP does not cancel her ticket, they will not work for her as a Mahayuti candidate.
Sena functionaries also hinted if required they will field an independent candidate. Sena had demanded this seat be given to them, accusing Ganpat Gaikwad of not doing development work during his three terms as an MLA.
After Sulabha Gaikwad was given the ticket, around 18 corporators and office bearers of Shiv Sena held a workers' meeting on Monday and opposed the decision.
Shiv Sena city president Mahesh Gaikwad said, "We have decided if Sulabha Gaikwad's ticket is not cancelled, we will not work for her."
Nilesh Shinde, an aspiring Shiv Sena candidate, said, "We have 18 corporators. If this ticket is not cancelled, we will have to field a candidate." BJP's Kalyan district president Nana Suryawanshi said Mahesh Gaikwad and Ganpat Gaikwad have a personal dispute. He expressed confidence the rest will work for the Mahayuti candidate. — Pradeep Gupta
