Varanasi: A case of alleged malpractice in the upcoming
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) examination has surfaced in Varanasi.
Rajeev Kumar, Director of the Indian Institute of Corporate Technology (IICT) in Bhadohi, filed a complaint after receiving an audio clip on Oct 14, suggesting a compromise in the exam's integrity, involving an IICT employee. The audio clip revealed a suspicious conversation between two individuals regarding the UPPSC exam.
Kumar promptly sent the audio clip to UPPSC, leading to a case being registered at the Civil Lines Commissionerate in Prayagraj. The accused are being charged under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 8 of the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance.
Since the case is related to Bhadohi district, the investigation was handed over to the Bhadohi police station. The Bhadohi police team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Tejveer Singh, is collecting evidence and proceeding with further legal action as per the rules.
