Balasore: Jaleswar railway station in Balasore district will be redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme, South Eastern Railways (SER) announced recently.
The redevelopment plan includes construction of a new station building with a modern, iconic design. The building will feature separate arrival and departure areas, integrating both sides of the town.
The station plaza will offer ample parking facilities and multi-modal integration to ensure smooth traffic flow. Passengers will enjoy a spacious concourse equipped with world-class amenities, including retail spaces, cafeterias, recreational areas, comfortable waiting zones, executive lounges and business meeting areas.
To further enhance passenger convenience, the station will be equipped with improved information systems, digital displays, signage and disabled-friendly (accessible) facilities. Foot overbridges, lifts and escalators will be installed to facilitate easy movement for passengers. Additionally, the station will offer free Wi-Fi, fire safety systems and ‘One Station, One Product’ kiosks to promote local products.
Jaleswar station is situated on the Howrah-Chennai main line and is connected to several major stations.
