Ara: A 40-year-old passenger was shot at by armed miscreants on a moving train when he resisted their loot bid near Sadisopur railway station in the jurisdiction of East Central Railway (ECR) in Bhojpur district, early on Sunday morning. Krishna Mohan Upadhyay, hailing from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, was returning to Varanasi by the (13201) Lokmanya Tilak Express when the incident took place.
Govt Railway Police (GRP) personnel rushed Upadhyay, who sustained a gunshot injury to his right hand, to Ara sadar hospital for treatment.
The SHO of GRP Ara, Rohit Kumar Singh, said, “We received information regarding the incident at around 1.15am.An FIR was filed based on the statement of the injured passenger, and forwarded to Danapur GRP since the incident took place near Sadisopur railway station.”
