Robber arrested after encounter
Kanpur: A robber who robbed a retired Air Force personnel of his gold chain during morning walk was injured and arrested by the police in Jajmau area on Sunday night. The suspect was taken to hospital due to injuries and was subsequently interrogated. According to Jajmau police station in-charge, Ajay Prakash Mishra, bikers robbed a chain from retired Air Force personnel Arun Kumar Giri during his morning walk on Oct 8.

The police filed a robbery case and initiated a search for the culprits.
The station In-charge reported that based on intelligence, a young biker was intercepted in Pyondi village. Upon seeing the police, the accused fired at the team, and in response, he was shot in the leg.
The police apprehended the suspect and shifted him to Kanshiram Hospital. During the interrogation, the accused identified himself as Rajesh from Khanpur, Jhinjhana, district Shamli. He disclosed that he had two other accomplices at the time of the incident.
Efforts are on to locate his two other accomplices. DCP East Shravan Kumar Singh disclosed that the accused has serious charges registered against him in Punjab, Haryana, and other locations. tnn
