Kanpur: A sub inspector was suspended after he was accused of misconduct with a woman and inappropriately touching her. Joint commissioner of police (JCP) Harish Chander suspended the in charge of Faithfulganj outpost Gajendra Singh on Monday. The JCP stated that action was taken after an investigation based on the complaint by the woman's family. According to the police, a woman from the South Zone allegedly fled from her home.
The person who accompanied her resides in the Eastern Zone, and the police were searching for him. The woman was eventually located in Mumbai. Gajendra Singh, a SI and incharge of Faithfulganj, went to Mumbai along with a team to bring the woman back. While returning to Kanpur, the SI allegedly misbehaved with the woman and touched her inappropriately. Upon the train's arrival in Kanpur, the woman's family was called to receive her. She informed her family about the incident, prompting them to lodge a complaint with the authorities.
