5 minor boys injured in blast in cowshed
Berhampur: Five minor boys were injured, four of them severely, after firecrackers allegedly exploded in a cowshed near Manikapur in Ganjam district on Saturday. The roof of the cowshed was damaged in the blast.
Sources said the boys were allegedly making crackers for Diwali when the explosion occurred. Locals rescued the boys and admitted them to Khallikote hospital.

Four of them were later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here after their condition worsened.
Senior police officers along with a forensic team and bomb squad rushed to the spot to launch an inquiry into the incident. “The exact cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained. We are yet to confirm whether the victims were preparing firecrackers. We are enquiring about it,” said Ganjam SP Suvendu Kumar Patra.
