Teen drug addict kills grandma in East Champaran
Patna/Motihari: A 19-year-old youth allegedly killed his grandmother with a sword at Barharwa Mahanand village under the Kalyanpur police station area in East Champaran district early Friday. The accused also assaulted his grandfather, leaving him injured. The youth, according to the police, had a dispute with the elderly couple over "tantra" practices being done by them to free him from drug addiction.

Police have arrested the accused, Jhunna Sah, and recovered the murder weapon.
The deceased was identified as Bhagmati Devi, 55. Her husband, Sukhdeo Saho, 60, sustained injuries.
Kalyanpur additional SHO Sunny Kumar Pathak said the incident happened around 3am."Jhunna, in an inebriated state, returned home, banging on the gate and yelling that he would kill everyone," pathak said. "His grandfather opened the gate and Jhunna attacked him with a sword. The elderly man fled inside, but Bhagmati Devi came out upon hearing the commotion. Jhunna then attacked her, killing her on the spot," Pathak added.
After the murder, Jhunna remained at the spot, sharpening the sword. Police arrived after receiving a call on Dial-112 and arrested him, Pathak said.
"During interrogation, the accused claimed that ‘Maa Kali' had sacrificed the woman, not him. Forensic experts have collected evidence and seized the weapon. The youth's drug addiction is being investigated," Pathak added.
Sukhdeo said his grandson had been living in Nepal for six months where he became addicted to drugs. "We were seeking help from an exorcist to cure him," he said.
