Report on aid & developed land for farmers to be out soon?
Noida: Around 150 farmers from 40 villages gathered at the Surajpur collectorate in Greater Noida on Friday as the indefinite strike called by Sanyukt Kisan Morcha entered its fifth day. The farmers are demanding increased compensation and 10% of the developed land. A meeting between the DM and farmers was held at the Sector 27 office.
Farmers announced plans for an indefinite protest from Oct 14.

Their month-long protest in Feb ended after the govt formed a high-level committee to look into their demands. Dissatisfaction, however, remains as the report submitted by the committee to the govt on Aug 31 was not made public.
The DM told TOI that the state govt would decide soon about publicly releasing the report. "We have conveyed the demands of the farmers to the concerned officials, and whatever decision is taken will be conveyed," he said.
Rupesh Verma, district president of All India Kisan Sabha, said, "The govt acquired farmers' land for various projects, including the Jewar airport, Delhi-Mumbai integrated corridor, and Peripheral expressway. Farmers are seeking increased compensation for these acquisitions."
He added, "For the last 10 years, the district administration has not revised the circle rate deliberately. We will continue our agitation until our issues are resolved."
The DM said, "The circle rates in the district will be revised soon. However, no date has been fixed for this."
"If the administration does not meet the demands by Oct 31, protesters will gherao the collectorate office and force it to shut down," Bhartiya Kisan Parishad leader Sukhbir Khalifa told TOI.
