Mumbai:
NCP (SP) chief
Sharad Pawar's office at Y B Chavan Centre in south Mumbai has become a political hub, particularly for those keen to leave
Ajit Pawar's NCP and
BJP in view of the polls.
NCP graduate MLC Satish Chavan, who is keen to contest from Gangapur in Aurangabad district, was among the first to meet Pawar. Ajit Pawar later expelled him from the party for six years.
Madha NCP (SP) MP Dhairyasheel Mohite Patil met Pawar apparently seeking nomination for his nephew Ranjeet Mohite Patil, a BJP legislator from Solapur. According to reports, Ranjeet went to Y B Chavan Centre, but did not meet Pawar owing to media presence.
BJP leader Laxman Dhoble met Pawar to seek nomination for his son from Mohol in Solapur district. Others who visited Pawar were Abhijeet Patil, who controls Pandhapur's Vithal sugar factory and was with BJP during LS polls, Pimpri-Chinchwad NCP legislator Vilas Lande, Shiv Sena MLC Kishor Darade, who sought nomination for his nephew from Yeola, and NCP legislator Rajendra Shingane's niece Gayatri who is keen to contest from Sindhakhedraja in Buldhana district. — Prafulla Marpakwar
