Delhi's 'very poor' air: 13 hotspots identified, 80 anti-smog guns to be deployed, says AAP minister Gopal Rai

NEW DELHI: Environment minister Gopal Rai held an emergency meeting to address the growing pollution crisis in national capital on Friday.

Gopal Rai stated that different local sources of pollution have been identified at 13 hotspots
"Eighty anti-smog guns will be deployed to check air dust," he said. He also noted that air quality across Delhi is 'poor,' with 'very poor' levels recorded at 13 locations.

To tackle the issue at these hotspots, Rai confirmed that one coordination committee has been formed for each to act against local pollution sources.
'Green War Room'
On Thursday, Gopal Rai announced that special campaigns aimed at controlling pollution would be initiated through the Green War Room, which will monitor the city's 13 pollution hotspots.
Rai also mentioned that the environment department will hold an emergency meeting on Friday, bringing together key departments such as the Public Works Department (PWD), Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the transport department and Delhi Traffic Police.
