Plan minimum clusters: East S’bhum DC to BDOs
Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum DEO cum DC Ananya Mittal instructed the block development officers to minimise the number of clusters during the planning process.
Clusters should be created when there are security concerns or insufficient space to accommodate poll personnel at the booths, he added.
Regarding vulnerable areas, the DC stated that clusters should ideally be established at the point beyond which neither the polling party nor the polling vehicles can proceed.

“Jamshedpur Cooperative College will be the despatch centre of the polling parties for the three urban assembly seats — Jamshedpur (East), Jamshedpur (West) and Jugsalai. Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial College in Karandih will be the centre for the rural constituencies of Potka, Baharagora, and Jugsalai,” he added.
The DEO has set October 20 as the deadline for the submission of home voting applications and instructed officials to identify critical booths, calculate their distance from the cluster centre, and conduct surveys of intermediate strong rooms.
SSP Kishore Kaushal advised officials to identify potential helipad sites and link them to the nearest cluster centre for emergency landings.
