NLC India Limited placed  High-Capacity Pumps to Assist Chennai in Flood Relief.

As Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu, faces a crisis of flood due to incessant and heavy rain that caused inundation of many areas in the city, NLC India Limited, has come forward to swiftly extend its support. This morning, NLCIL dispatched a team of senior officers and skilled personnel, along with five powerful 25 HP industrial pumps, to the city to assist in critical flood-relief efforts.

Flagging off the team from the Corporate Office in Neyveli, Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) and Director (P&P) (Addl. Charge), emphasized NLCIL’s commitment to helping Chennai in this challenging situation. The pumps, typically used in NLCIL’s lignite mines, are designed for high-efficiency water removal and will be instrumental in draining the severely waterlogged areas across the city.

These high-capacity pumps will be deployed in the most affected areas to expedite the drainage of stagnant water and help restore normalcy. NLCIL remains fully committed to collaborating with Government authorities, ensuring a rapid and effective response to this ongoing crisis.

This initiative follows NLCIL’s similar support last year, when it provided vital resources during the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung. With a strong track record of quick, large-scale disaster response, NLCIL continues to stand by the Government of Tamil Nadu, offering both expertise and technology to help mitigate the impact of natural disasters
