Deputy CM Fadnavis upset about posting of NCP neta
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed displeasure over the appointment of NCP's Ashish Damle as chairperson of the newly formed Prashuram Financial Development Corporation for students from underprivileged families of the community. Govt has sanctioned Rs 50 crore as corpus fund for the corporation in Pune.
Damle was allegedly appointed by NCP leader and deputy CM Ajit Pawar, without consultation with the Mahayuti allies.

At a meeting of the Mahayuti's coordination committee on Wednesday, Fadnavis conveyed his displeasure over not being consulted on Damle's appointment through BJP members. Sources said since the election code of conduct has come into force, no change in appointment can now be carried out.
Damle could not be reached for his comments.
The demand for a Brahmin financial corporation was first made by Pune Brahmins when Fadnavis was chief minister. Damle's parents were close to Sharad Pawar, said sources. When the NCP split, Damle joined the Ajit Pawar faction. tnn

Damle could not be reached for his comments. NCP's chief spokesperson Amol Mitkari told TOI that Damle was a highly qualified person and would do justice to the new responsibility. "Time will prove how Ajit Pawar was right in appointing him the chairman of the corporation," he said.
Leaders of the Brahmin community have also expressed strong opposition to Damle's appointment. They argued that he was a political figure who did not play any role in different agitations held by the Brahmins to press for their demands.
