DC assures prompt lifting
Ludhiana: DC Jitendra Jorwal said that the Punjab government was committed to smooth and hassle-free procurement of the paddy to facilitate the farmers. He reviewed procurement of paddy in the district and said that the state government would lift every grain. He added that the district administration had made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the harvest of farmers was lifted from grain markets promptly.

Jorwal said that all sub-divisional magistrates and chiefs of all procurement agencies had been asked to personally supervise paddy procurement operations. He added that the district administration had witnessed arrival of 1.5 lakh MT paddy and procured 1.2 lakh MT from grain markets. tnn
