Additional DCP, Central Zone, Manisha Singh, confirmed that an FIR was lodged against unidentified individuals, and an investigation is underway. The officer did not name any person nor clarify whether any political party functionary was involved in the incident.
The incident is believed to have stemmed from Singh's comments after Priyanka Gandhi was announced as the Congress candidate for Wayanad. He insinuated that her move reflected her avoidance of tougher electoral battles, referring to her slogan during the 2022 UP elections, "Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon" ("I am a girl, I can fight"). He referenced her decision to contest the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala, implying she ran away from political competition in Uttar Pradesh.
