Teen killed in scuffle between two groups in UP's Amethi

A 19-year-old youth, Vivek Verma, died after a scuffle between two groups in Amethi. The altercation, unrelated to communal tensions or idol immersion, occurred near Budhau Maharaj Ghat. Despite minor injuries, Verma was declared dead at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. Police are investigating and seeking to apprehend the accused.

NEW DELH: A 19-year-old youth died during a clash between two groups in UP's Amethi, police officials said on Friday.
Vivek Verma, a resident of Katra Maharani village, was involved in a scuffle near Budhau Maharaj Ghat Bhushiyava on Thursday night.
Verma sustained critical injuries during the altercation and was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Munshiganj, where doctors declared him dead.

Additional Superintendent of Police Harendra Kumar stated, "There is no communal angle. There was an enmity among these youths."
He noted that the youths had a confrontation before reaching the ghat and mentioned, "No serious injury marks have been found on the youth's body." The body has been sent for a post-mortem, and the police are working to apprehend the accused.
The incident occurred around 200 meters from an idol immersion spot, but the Additional SP clarified that it was unrelated to the idol immersion activities.
